The Employee Development and Retention Programme is a Funded programme by Department of Skills Development (DSD) under Ministry of Human Resource (MOHR) with the objectives to upskill, provide a career pathway and retention for employees. It trains and educates employees to be more skilful, knowledgeable & have a better understanding towards its industry, job functions and increases retention too. This programme provides Malaysian Skill Certificate up to Advance Diploma or Micro Credentials.
The objectives are:
- To provide a platform for eligible Small & Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in identifying suitable training programmes in line with the recommendation made in the RA report from the Industry4WRD initiative.
- To provide opportunities for Malaysian employers to fund for relevant training in accordance to the company’s operation and initiatives that advocate a highly skilled workforce.
- To accelerate and spur the high technology adoption process in the manufacturing sector.
- To ensure SMEs’ readiness prior to the high technology adoption plan.
Each company may send a maximum of 5 employees to undergo the training for free. Company may choose a maximum of 2 courses to participate.
